Furever Home

Every animal deserves a place to belong.

Furever Home is a cozy animal-rescue game in development for Windows PC. Explore a connected town, earn animals’ trust, and help them find a safe home. Rescue, transport, and care form the heart of the game.

Built in Unity, the evolving prototype brings together persistent world state, animal behavior, contextual interactions, save/load, and connected locations. Follow our devlog for a look at the game and the workshop behind it.

Independent games. Thoughtfully crafted.

Winterkewl is an independent game developer based in Redmond, Washington, led by game designer and Unity developer Kristafer Vale. We create character-driven experiences with thoughtful gameplay, expressive worlds, and tools that make creative iteration possible.

Our current project is Furever Home, a cozy animal-rescue game about earning trust, helping animals, and finding them a safe place to belong. Built in Unity, it brings together hands-on game design and an evolving AI-assisted development workflow.

The studio draws on Kristafer’s game design and technical leadership at Helios Interactive and character production and pipeline tools experience at DreamWorks Animation and Sony Pictures Imageworks.

From idea to interactive experience

At Helios Interactive, Kristafer served as Principal Unity Developer and Technical Lead across more than 20 shipped projects. Work included game design and development for Lionsgate’s Saw / Jigsaw Comic-Con experience, alongside VR and AR games and interactive installations.

Today, over five years of AI-assisted game development experience informs how we build: clear creative intent, focused prototypes, reusable Unity systems, and evidence from real playtests.
